SOLAR STORMS AND MODERN COMMUNICATIONS
It's well documented that during electromagnetic solar storms it cripples all forms of wireless communication. But even worse... should a region experience massive blackouts resulting from a massive electromagnetic field slamming into the earth, it will take out all other forms of electronic communication. The problem comes from electronic circuit boards becoming overloaded from excessive amounts of electromagnetic energy getting into the electronic circuit board. When this happen, it overloads the board causing it to basically short out. When that happens everything from a cars electronic ignition, to your computers, iPods, game machines, cell phones, planes to tucks, emergency medical equipment and so much more can all suddenly break down if the electromagnetic jolt from the sun is high enough.
FYI: As of June 2010, NASA upgraded their warning telling the public, "To Get Ready For A Once In A Lifetime Solar Storm Event".
You will find how to prevent this from happening to your electronics located in your Solar Storm Survival Guide.
Below is a picture of a massive coronal mass ejection (CME) which is highly charged with electromagnetic energy. Had this CME been pointed directly at the earth, the world would of had one serious wakeup call and then some. NASA is forecasting plenty more of these for 2012, and possibly some of those will be aimed directly at the earth, but may even be far larger then the one seen in this SOHO photograph. Remember that when it comes to modern civilization clashing with super solar storms, we are no doubt in uncharted waters as to how much damage civilization will be knocked back in time, possible as far back as to the days of steam engines some say.
